Casina Alati

Casina Alati is a charming old residence dating back to late XIX century, featuring a huge private pool (18m*6m) and fenced in almost two hectares of land. Once upon a time countryside residence of a local noble family, today Casina Alati is the ideal property for families with children as well as groups of friends longing for a peaceful haven where to spend their summer holidays. Being it only a couple of miles away from some lovely little towns, you will be able to discover and experience local life and culture. But you will further appreciate its optimal position when, in a matter of just a few minute drive, you will get to the renowned Otranto -one of the most beautiful towns of Salento- as well as to the gorgeous sandy beaches of Alimini Lakes and the Natural Reserve “Il Torcito”. In other words, Casina Alati will allow you to thoroughly enjoy both the quiet of the countryside and the liveliness of coastal and downtown life.

The abundance of outside space alongside with the privacy of each single suite make this property a perfect match for big groups of people, be it for a holiday or for a business stay. Whether you love most lounging by the pool, or enjoying the serenity of the countryside in some peaceful corner, or perhaps meditating in the pinewood, in Casina Alati you will find your favorite spot. And for sure you will all make the most of the main patio, equipped with a BBQ, a lovely setting for gatherings at sunsets for an aperitivo and for a dinner al fresco.

The architecture of the house is characterized by high-vaulted ceilings which, together with ample windows, make the interiors airy and bright.
Set on two levels, there is a total of 8 double bedrooms (two of which can be made as twin bedrooms) and 7 shower rooms (one of which with a bathtub).
On the ground floor, one finds the common living area comprising the kitchen and the dining space overlooking the patio, which develops as an outdoor extension of such portion of the house. From the living room, access is gained to two double bedrooms with en-suite shower room. From the garden, one finds the way to other three independent double bedrooms with en-suite shower room, one of which features also a little living room and a kitchen corner, while the other two can be set up as twin bedrooms.
Through an independent access, one gets to the upper floor that hosts two suites: one with a double bedroom, kitchen corner and bathroom; the other with two double bedrooms and one shower room. Each suite features a bright living room overlooking a common equipped terrace, offering a panoramic view of the surrounding grounds.
In the event your group comprises more than 16 people, please know that three single sofa-beds are available, making up a total of 19 sleeps.

Casina Alati stands out particularly for its outdoors. It is in fact enclosed by a wonderful park comprising pinewoods, Mediterranean shrub, century-old olive trees and holly oaks. A very peculiar feature of such ancient countryside property certainly is the original round threshing floor that was once used to thresh grain. Of a much more modern appeal instead is the lovely pool area, equipped with sun-beds and deck chairs (please note that although such area is fenced, the fence itself is short and could be climbed over, hence children need to be supervised). The pool is extremely large, so that one can actually have a good swim across.

As mentioned above, while being in a secluded position, Casina Alati is nevertheless at a short drive from a nearby town as well as from the beaches of the Adriatic coastline. Its position is convenient also to reach the main sites and attractions of the region.

- While being located in a quiet area, it is very close to the renowned sandy beaches of the Alimini Lakes, as well as to the charming Otranto.

Please note

A few meters from the main body of the villa there is a little annex occupied by the owner of the property, who is always at the complete disposal of his guests, be it for any practical request concerning the management of the villa, or for some recommendation as to where to go eating out, etc. Such annex has an independent access. All outdoor space of the villa will be at exclusive use of the guests.
