Description
In the heart of the historic center of a little town in Southern Puglia, at just 3.5 km from the seaside of Marina di Andrano, there is a beautiful house with a courtyard and a pool, characterized by a distinct Mediterranean feel but with an unquestionably international style. The entrance is next to the little church of Saint Andrews Apostle, in front of the nice castle of Andrano. The restoration works enhanced the architectonic features typical of the ancient buildings of the area, as for example the white-wash walls and the vaulted ceilings, whereas the decoration and the comfort the house offers are ultimately contemporary and full of charm.
The main feature of the house is its ground floor, an open space of 130 sq. m. lying under six high cross-vaulted ceilings and giving the impression of continuity with the garden. This space hosts a spacious living area, a well-equipped island kitchen with a countertop in Carrara marble, a relax corner next to a fireplace, and a dining area equipped with a marble table and overlooking the courtyard with pool through the wide glass windows. Right above the kitchen, a nice mezzanine hosting a studio overlooks this entire open space. A few steps make way through the glass window outside in the courtyard garden with pool, under a patio shaded with reed-mats and equipped with an 8/10-seat dining table. The solarium area around the pool is partly on grass and partly paved, encircled by lush vegetation.
In the garden there is a secondary exit to a little private alley shared with the nearby houses. Going back inside, one finds an access to a cellar (which is however not accessible) and, next to the kitchen, the way to the sleeping area consisting of one double bedroom with private bathroom and one single bedroom with en-suite shower room. FIY: there is no air conditioning in these bedrooms since the architectonic characteristics render them naturally cool in summer. The smaller bedroom, even though it is provided with a double sofa-bed, is more suitable for a single person given the lack of space in the room. Access to both bedrooms is gained through a common passageway. Both bedrooms have an exit to a little common patio.
Going back in the living area, next to the kitchen on the other side, there is a beautiful ancient staircase leading up first to the studio on the mezzanine and further up to the upper floor, where a passageway gives access to other two double bedrooms both with a shower room (one en-suite, the other adjoined) and provided with air conditioning. Both bedrooms have an exit to a large beautiful terrace overlooking the historic center, with a view on the glass windows of the nearby church of Saint Andrew.
FIY: Given the position next to a church, please know that during the day you might hear the bells sounding out.
