Casa Riad Impluvium

Nestled in the quiet of Giurdignano, a few kilometers from the enchanting beaches of Otranto, Casa Riad Impluvium is a charming residence, somewhat in the style of an impregnable Riad, surrounded by high walls, with its beautiful Arabian-style internal courtyards. The place is fascinating, time flows to the tolling of the bells of the nearby Church, and you can enjoy the cool scent of summer evenings outdoors.

The heart of the residence is the internal courtyard, an oasis of peace and conviviality. Here, a majestic palm stands in the center, looking over the pool that invites you to a refreshing dip on hot summer days. The courtyard is the ideal place to relax, read a book, or enjoy an aperitif at sunset.

Casa Riad Impluvium consists of two distinct, yet complementary buildings, which develop around the internal courtyard with a swimming pool. The main Palazzo, dating back to the 18th century, retains the charm of the era intact, with its vaulted rooms and original white plaster. La Casina, built in 2003, echoes the essential lines and Mediterranean warmth of the Palazzo, offering bright and welcoming spaces.

Both the main Palazzo and the Casina are spread over two floors.
The main Palazzo on the ground floor includes a large kitchen with a fireplace that comfortably overlooks the internal courtyard, a twin bedroom with stone beds, a bathroom/shower, a dining room, and a beautiful living room with a fireplace and built-in sofas composed of two areas, one with a barrel vault and the other with a star vault. A stone staircase leads to the first floor consisting of 3 bedrooms, including a double suite with an en-suite bathroom/shower and a private sitting area, a double bedroom and a single bedroom that share a bathroom/shower and a beautiful panoramic terrace equipped with garden furniture, a hammock, and a pergola overlooking the internal courtyard.
La Casina offers on the ground floor a large, very bright living area with an open kitchen that overlooks the internal courtyard with pool through two large arches, a double/twin bedroom, and a bathroom/shower. On the first floor, which is accessed exclusively by an external staircase (there is no internal connection), there are two communicating bedrooms, one twin and the other double, which share a bathroom/shower and a small terrace overlooking the village of Giurdignano.

Completing the property, in the basement, accessible from the courtyard, a comfortable spa with a whirlpool tub, sauna, and toilet, for moments of pure well-being.

Giurdignano is a town of 1700 inhabitants located in the center of vast olive groves and just 6 km from Otranto. Good to know

- The house is located in the heart of the historic center. It is therefore not possible to park the car in the immediate vicinity. However, free public parking is available a short distance away.
- Being the house leaning against the church, you may hear the sound of the bells ringing during the day.
