Description
With some beautiful furnished terraces, equipped also with a mini-pool (no hot water), and offering a 360°-view over the historic centre, Palazzetto Giravolta is a charming property in the heart of Lecce, in a quiet neighborhood at a few steps from the renowned “Piazza del Duomo”, the square of the town’s Cathedral.
The house consists of two levels, above the ground floor. A nice portal makes way inside from the street, in a beautiful entrance hall which immediately gives a taste of the atmosphere full of character of the entire Palazzetto; here you can park your bicycles and climb upstairs to the first floor. The main apartment, featuring classic architecture typical of the XIX century and comfortable design interiors, can accommodate up to 6 people, comprising a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a twin/double bedroom with en-suite shower room and another double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Going upstairs to the second floor, there are the terraces arranged in different equipped areas, where there is an independent annex, featuring a twin/double bedroom with en-suite shower room.
First floor
An elegant hall makes way, to the left, to the master bedroom with bathroom, to the right, to a twin/double bedroom with en-suite shower room, and straight ahead to the spacious and sunny living room. From here, one continues into the design kitchen and dining room. The kitchen leads through the balcony to another double bedroom with en-suite shower room.
All rooms of the apartment have wide French-windows opening onto balconies overlooking either a little inner courtyard or the charming little street from which one accesses the Palazzetto, which is so quiet and picturesque.
Second floor
From the entrance landing, one further climbs up to the second floor, encountering first a little laundry room on the left (provided with washing&drying machine and an additional fridge) and then getting out onto the terraces. On the right, there is the annex featuring a small living room and a double/twin bedroom with en-suite shower room.
The terraces are organized in different sections, partially provided with sunshades. The first section is equipped with a 4m-long sofa, some loungers and other garden furniture. The second one is set up as an outdoor dining area with a 12-seat table, where to enjoy al-fresco dining with friends and family in the lovely spring and summer nights; in this section there is also an outdoor shower (with hot water). Lastly, climbing up a stone staircase, one gets onto the upper terrace section where there is the mini-pool and a solarium with sunbeds. All this outdoor space is a haven of rest above the rooftops, from where one can overlook the bell towers of the nearby churches and the other palazzi all around, and admire wonderful sunsets over the old town.
Why we like it
The original and eclectic interior style, which audaciously brings together pieces of furniture and objects belonging to different periods; on the same note, the house features several “cult” objects of contemporary design, and original works of arts echoing the colors of the Pompeian-like frescoes of the walls brought to light thanks to the restoration, as well as the overall classic architecture typical of the Baroque houses of Lecce. Staying here, you will experience an atmosphere that is charming, cosy and enlivening.Need to know
