Description
Masseria Li Paduli is an ancient property with garden and pool located in the countryside nearby Ruffano and Specchia, two lovely little towns of the lower Salento. It is a quintessential aristocratic residence of old times, where the elegance of both the interiors and the exteriors blends blissfully with the rural charm. It is the ideal villa for those who look forward to a holiday of charm and privacy, as well as of luxury and comfort in the accommodation.
The property is composed of two separate independent buildings offering a total of 16 sleeps, and it can thus easily lodge a group of families or of couples wishing to spend their holiday together.
The main house is the original ancient residence, where all rooms have high-vaulted ceilings and overlook different areas of the garden: an airy entrance hall featuring a mural by the contemporary artist David Tremlett, with dining table and staircase leading to a mezzanine furnished with sofas; a living room with a fireplace and TV and a toilet; a fully-equipped kitchen overlooking a garden courtyard with a shaded dining area; two double bedrooms, each with en-suite shower-room.
Walking across another garden courtyard, one then reaches the second building. It comprises those that in the past were the stables, which today host five double bedrooms with en-suite shower-room; each bedroom has its independent access from the garden, and some of them also benefit of a private patio. There is then another equipped kitchen, which also has an outdoor shaded dining area. Lastly, there is a sixth bedroom with shower-room just in front of the secondary access to this part of the property.
The wide garden extending behind the main house, delimited by colonnades shaded by beautiful wisterias and other climbing plants, is crossed by two perpendicular pathways that intersect at the centre -marked by a magnificent magnolia tree- and end up in four niches aligned with the four cardinal points. In the first half of this vast lawn garden, that is next to the house, there is the pool (4m x 23m), stretching widthwise from side to side. Last but not least, a lovely roof-top terrace is reachable via a stone staircase, and that is the perfect corner where to sip your aperitivo cocktail at sunset, just before a lovely star-lit al-fresco dinner.
