Una delle località più incantevoli del Salento, grazie al litorale basso e sabbioso caratterizzato dalla presenza di dune retrostanti, viene denominata “Le Maldive del Salento”. La particolarità della spiaggia è quella di presentare una sabbia finissima e molto chiara, la più fine di tutto il litorale Salentino. Poco distante dalla costa si trovano diverse grotte carsiche e dal punto di vista archeologico la località si caratterizza per la presenza di un dolmen e di una tomba del 2500 a.C. Le strutture, ad uso turistico, sono abitate soprattutto nel periodo estivo, quando l’insediamento demografico raggiunge picchi altissimi (in 5 km di costa si superano le 35.000 presenze).

Ma a Pescoluse non c’è solo il mare; come tutto il territorio del Comune di Salve, la marina è ricca di storia, arte e cultura. Lo testimoniano i resti dei Dolmen, le numerose “Pajare” (i caratteristici trulli salentini) e la torre cinquecentesca di Masseria “Borgin” eretta in difesa delle scorrerie dei corsari, le strutture militari per la difesa costiera durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Recentemente questa frazione si è notevolmente espansa rispetto al borgo originario che comprendeva sette strade parallele. Dal finire degli anni ’90 questa località sta diventando sempre più obbiettivo del turismo di massa, tanto che durante la stagione estiva questa spiaggia viene scelta come luogo di trasmissione per diverse emittenti radiofoniche. Pescoluse ospita inoltre una chiesa di recente costruzione dedicata al Beato Papa Giovanni XIII, dipendente dalla Parrocchia di Salve.

La sabbia finissima, le acque cristalline, le dune di sabbia ed i fantastici tramonti, fanno di Pesculuse una delle località balneari più belle, ricercate ed incontaminate ed Il litorale sabbioso di Pescoluse viene utilizzato per la deposizione delle uova della tartaruga marina “caretta-caretta”.
