Tre giorni di musica, incontri, mostre, jam session, dj set, enogastronomia con le eccellenze di Puglia: dal 19 al 21 giugno in piazza Vittoria a Squinzano, torna “Città della musica”.

La manifestazione, organizzata dal Comune di Squinzano con la direzione artistica di Pino Lagalle dell’agenzia Ribalta, con il patrocinio di Regione Puglia, Provincia di Lecce, Unione del Comuni del Nord Salento e Gal Valle della Cupa e in collaborazione con Università del Salento, Conservatorio Tito Schipa e Liceo Musicale di Lecce, Camera di Commercio di Lecce, Puglia Sounds, Silb e altri partner, ospiterà anche l’atteso concerto del pianista Stefano Bollani, in programma sabato 20 giugno, alle ore 21,30.

La manifestazione vuole celebrare Squinzano come città della musica che nel corso del novecento ha visto crescere e affermarsi la grande tradizione bandistica, rappresentata soprattutto nel periodo diretto dai fratelli Ernesto e Gennaro Abbate ma che ancora oggi porta la Banda di Squinzano in giro per l’Italia. Nel piccolo centro del nord salento è nato, inoltre, Nicola Arigliano che sarà ricordato con l’assegnazione di un premio riservato a giovani musicisti jazz. Nel corso delle tre giorn in piazza Vittoria si alterneranno ospiti pugliesi e nazionali tra jazz, musica popolare, dj set e altro ancora.

Three days of music, meetings, exhibitions, jam session, DJ sets, food and wine with the excellence of Puglia: June 19 to 21 in Victoria Square in Squinzano, returns “City of Music”.

The event, organized by the Municipality of Squinzano under the artistic direction of Pino Lagalle agency Ribalta, under the patronage of Regione Puglia, Province of Lecce, Union of Municipalities of Northern Salento and Gal Cupa Valley and in collaboration with University of Salento, Tito Schipa Conservatory and Music School of Lecce, Chamber of Commerce of Lecce, Puglia Sounds, Silb and other partners, will also host the long-awaited concert by the pianist Stefano Bollani, scheduled for Saturday, June 20, at 21.30.

The event aims to celebrate Squinzano as a city of music during the twentieth century has seen grow and succeed the big band tradition, represented especially in the period directed by brothers Ernesto and Gennaro Abbate but that still bears the band around Italy Squinzano . In the small town of northern Salento it was born, also Arigliano that will be remembered by the award of a prize for young jazz musicians. During the three giorn in Victoria Square guests will alternate between Puglia and national jazz, popular music, DJ sets and more.
